"This has been the dream ever since I conceived the idea for the show three years ago and I am stoked that it is coming true. We need folks to support stories like these. There is a serious lack of Black queer representation, especially in Canada and it is past time for that to change.

I want to see more stories that place Black women at the centre. I want to see flawed, complex, richly textured Black characters on screen. That starts with funding our projects and building the infrastructure for us to thrive.

Thank you to all the folks who supported us in getting to this milestone. This was not an easy journey but I am grateful for the process because I know it is paving the way for so much more. Here’s to many more stories that celebrate and highlight queer folks. I hope you all enjoy the series...I sure enjoyed writing it."

Vancouver’s 1st Black/Queer Web Series

Meet Novelette, a cynical, anti-social, bisexual woman who finds herself newly single at age 30, and reluctantly decides to take on a roommate to help with rent.  At first, inviting the extroverted, outspoken Audre to share her East Van apartment seems like it may have been a mistake. But though their personalities clash, Audre's boldness and lack of boundaries soon rubs off on Novelette in the best way, encouraging her to put herself back into the dating pool.
